The MG900/2360-WD shearer is a newly developed product designed for high-efficiency mining in hard coal seams with a thickness of 1.7–2.5 m. With a cutting power of 900 kW per arm and a total installed power of 2,360 kW, it represents the highest power level in the industry for the same mining height range. Through a series of technological innovations—including the development of microalloyed high-strength cast rocker arm housing materials, the design of high-power-density transmission and cooling systems, the creation of integral curved-blade spherical drums, the invention of high-energy laser cladding technology for sprocket tooth surface treatment, and the development of high-sampling-rate sensor data acquisition devices—the shearer achieves a haulage speed of 15.8 m/min and a tramming speed of 31.6 m/min. This enables high-speed extraction and meets the requirements for an annual output of 5 million tonnes in hard coal seams with a mining height of 2 m and a coal hardness of f3 and above.
